Dachshund

The dachshund is commonly known as the wiener dog, sausage dog, or the weenie dog in the United States. Their peculiar size, body, and face, are the reasons for these well known nicknames.

A long body, with short legs, sort of looks like a hot dog with a head and a tail, no wonder these nicknames are popular in the U.S., you know how much we love our hot dogs!

Not only do we love our hot dogs, but we also love our wiener dogs too. Ranked at number 8 of the top ten dog breeds, I think that we went for the cute and funny looks this time. Why?

They are a challenge to train due to being so stubborn. They start to whine if no one keeps them company, and sometimes can be a problem when it comes to barking, and yes, they have a loud bark.

With that, it sounds like a dog that we Americans want, we love challenges, we like company, and we need a loud barker for a watchdog.

Give credit where credit is due, their loyalty and devotion to their owners is top notch. Do the same, in fact, return the same and more. Have patience when training, and spend time, a lot of quality time with your favorite dog.
