Puppy Training and Dog Training for Puppies to Dogs

Puppy training, dog training? Oh me, oh my. Planning to get your first puppy or dog?

Do you have what it takes to become a responsible dog owner?

You will need a few things for sure, but seriously, here, are the two most important things that you must have.

The first thing is time.

With our busy lives, who has time to do anything anymore? When do we ever stop to smell the roses. Rush, rush, rush.

Experts are saying that owning a dog today, helps relieve stress, is good for your heart, and simply does wonders for our well being. Well then, I think everyone should get a puppy or dog, start puppy training and then, maybe, we could take her out for a walk, and actually stop by the rose bush and enjoy life as it should be.

Before you begin puppy training, you will need to spend some time on research. Find out about the background, or the breed of the dog, that you plan to get, and match that to your lifestyle. No sense on getting a big dog that needs a lot of room and yet, here we are in this little apartment.

Maybe you would like to bring your dog out on that morning run, find a breed that loves to run too. Also, keep in mind that every dog has its own characteristic, two dogs of the same breed may behave differently. I like to call that, their "dogonality." By doing some research, you can and will find that loyal companion.

More time will also be needed as you will see on my page, Potty Training on Puppy's 1st Day. From here, to about an average of 4-5 months, it will be 24/7 with house training or potty training your puppy. Then there's obedience training, introducing early socialization, and playtime (exercising).

So busy! So much fun. You, and your family will need to form a bond with your puppy, and these puppy training times, are the best times to do it. Potty training your puppy may seem like a long time, but once she gets the idea, you're in for a lifetime of fun and enjoyment.

Now, the second thing. Money. When considering puppy training or even the whole idea of dog ownership, especially if starting out with a new puppy, plan on spending. On this page, Be Puppy Prepared, I pretty much give one the idea of what is needed to keep your little one comfortable, safe, and a tad bit spoiled. It does require a little spending, even before you bring her home.

The most important thing that I must mention, besides puppy training, is to make an appointment with your veterinarian. It is a good idea to get her checked soon after bringing her home. You need to think about the costs of keeping her healthy. With the high costs of veterinary care today, please take this into consideration when thinking of dog ownership.

Veterinary costs vary by area, ask your vet for exact amounts. You will or may spend money on such things as:
